Who are we looking for
Our Agriculture Ecology and Natural Sciences team is dedicated to delivering client projects across agriculture natural resources and environmental sectors. Our team of economists scientists policy and project management experts work collaboratively to inform decision-making and drive impactful outcomes for government industry and communities.
We are seeking an experienced consultant to join our team and contribute to our broad portfolio of projects involving the development implementation and review of agricultural and natural resource management policy programs and strategy. Our clients include state and Commonwealth government agencies across the agricultural natural resources water and energy sectors local councils and organisations focused on the prosperity and development of rural and regional Australia.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Providing clear written technical input and advice across a range of policy and program initiatives relating to agricultural industries rural and regional development and natural resource management.
- Gathering information and data and conducting research activities including scanning and evaluating multiple internal and external data sources accessing relevant industry data from state and federal government agencies and key industry sources.
- Conducting technical analyses to inform strategic land use planning agricultural impact cost-benefit socio-economic and financial assessments.
- Working with our teams Technical Directors to deliver high quality outputs for clients in line with our project management and quality assurance frameworks.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders across government industry and community sectors.
What you will bring to the team
- Degree in Agriculture Science Economics or a related discipline
- 4 years of experience in consulting natural resource management or agricultural policy.
- Broad understanding of agricultural and rural industries in Australia.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to provide assistance to concise and accurate advice/reports.
- Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and as a constructive team member including providing support and direction to junior team members.
- Ability to work across multiple projects and deliver high-quality client outcomes.
