Job Description
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to piping quality control in compliance with project specifications and relevant codes (ASME ANSI API etc..
- Review and approve piping inspection procedures and ensure the correct application of quality control standards and specifications.
- Lead and support the inspection and testing of piping systems including welding alignment hydrostatic tests non-destructive testing (NDT) and pressure tests.
- Ensure that piping materials components and systems meet applicable industry and project standards.
- Review and analyze inspection reports and implement corrective actions where required.
- Manage the piping quality control team including providing guidance training and support to Piping QC Inspectors.
- Coordinate with other departments (engineering construction etc. to ensure that piping quality issues are resolved promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation of quality control activities including inspection records test results and certification documentation.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and review quality control plans ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
- Monitor performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement in piping quality control practices.
- Support the preparation of final project documentation including quality assurance reports and piping inspection records.
- Liaise with client representatives third-party inspection agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Extensive experience (typically 5 years) in piping quality control with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME API ANSI etc..
- Familiarity with NDT techniques including radiographic inspection ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other quality control-related software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
