Job Description
Main Purpose of Role:
The role is responsible to lead Project Management Team (PMT) to support the client to manage the awarded EPC contract for the upgrade of the power station.
The main scope includes upgrade of the power station which is located within drivable distance of Kuwait City. At present this station has facilities for power generation and water production. The scope also includes a provision of the future line to another neighboring power station.
The position together with the Project Management team is based in Kuwait.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage EPC Contractor ensuring that the project is delivered within time budget and QHSE requirements.
- Ensuring the correct application by EPC Contractor of design criteria drawings standards and conventions and design guidelines for the projects.
- Coordination of the reporting of progress performance and resource allocation by the EPC Contractor
- Coordination of pre-construction conferences briefings and presentations
- Active oversight and management of the construction and commissioning activities
- Verification of the EPC Contractors monthly invoices
- Ensures timely internal and external reporting.
- Ensures client satisfaction through successful project delivery thereby paving the way for long-term client relationships and opportunities for repeat business.
Key Relationships:
Internal Interface
- PMS Project Manager will report to the MEA PMC/PMS SL Director and will have regular interaction with the companys project internal support team.
Client Interface
- PMS Project Manager will interact with the Clients Project Director and the relevant personnel based in the power station.
Personal Competencies:
- High level leadership skills with the ability to lead effectively and to motivate and influence others to adopt company client and project objectives.
- High level creative conceptual and inductive reasoning abilities for effective problem solving.
- Excellent ability to express self-confidently clearly fluently concisely and persuasively in spoken and written English.
- Ability to anticipate situations ahead and to identify and proactively resolve/action both obvious or hidden obstacles and/or opportunities.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
- Extensive project management and project engineering experience in the FEED and EPC projects.
- PMC experience at similar role for at least several years is preferable.
- Computer literate with all MS Packages particularly Word and Excel proficient.
- Educated to an engineering degree (Minimum). Project Management certification is preferable.
