About the role

An exciting career opportunity has arisen to join us at the Barnet Integrated Clinical Service (BICS). BICS is a mental health and wellbeing service for children young people and their families who live in the London Borough of Barnet or attend a Barnet school. BICS are based within the local authority and provides evidence-based individual group and family therapy to children young people and their families (CYPF). It also shares online podcasts and video workshops alongside live workshops and train the trainer session on mental health and wellbeing. BICS has collaborative and effective working relationships with colleagues in Early Help Childrens Social Care NHS CAMHS schools and other agencies.

As an Assistant Psychologist you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Service Assistant Head of Service and Clinical Managers with collecting analysing and disseminating performance data to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the service. Under supervision you will also support delivery of evidence-based early interventions for children and young people.

The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time permanent contract. We are a strong supportive friendly department and support professional development. The starting salary is equivalent to NHS Agenda for Change Band 5. As part of this role there will be a requirement to travel between community settings (e.g. schools libraries Hubs) and to/from the office in Colindale where the team base is located.

The successful candidate will be able to establish good communication and rapport with children and young people and demonstrate a graduate level knowledge of research and research methodology. You will also have a broad general and/or clinical knowledge base of Child Development and Mental Health.

You should be able to work as a team member and to engage effectively with clients and staff across a range of contexts and be able to plan and organise in the face of complex and competing demands. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work with people from different backgrounds cultures and of different ages. Holding a positive and proactive approach to their own continuing professional development and have the capacity for reflective practice.
