You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position involves the comprehensive provisioning and management of Linux servers within the IT infrastructure. The IT System Administrator is responsible for continuous optimization of system performance patch management troubleshooting and advising end users on their server needs. Additionally managing security vulnerabilities is a key aspect to ensure IT security. Automation of recurring tasks and complex processes.
Main Responsibilities:
Provisioning of Linux Servers:Install configure and manage Linux servers to ensure a stable and efficient IT environment. This includes planning and implementing new servers as well as maintaining existing systems.
Patch Management:Perform regular updates and patches to ensure system security and stability. This involves monitoring security bulletins and timely implementation of patches.
Performance Optimization:Analyze server performance and implement optimization measures to ensure high availability and efficiency of systems. This may include adjusting server configurations and implementing performance monitoring tools.
Troubleshooting:Analyze and resolve issues as they arise to ensure smooth operation of IT systems. This includes diagnosing hardware and software problems and implementing solutions.
End User Support:Assist and advise end users on their server infrastructure needs and questions. This includes providing technical support and training users on effective use of server resources.
Security Vulnerability Management:Identify assess and address security vulnerabilities to ensure IT security. This involves conducting security analyses implementing security measures and monitoring systems for potential threats.
Automation of recurring tasks and complex processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
Documentation:Create and continuously update operational process and system documentation to ensure clear and traceable documentation of the IT infrastructure.
Project Work:Participate in IT projects to develop and optimize the IT infrastructure. This may include planning and implementing new technologies and improving existing systems.
Qualifications:
University degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Several years of experience in Linux server administration preferably in an enterprise environment.
In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g. RHEL Ubuntu) and experience with virtualization technologies.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash Python or Perl for task automation.
Good understanding of network concepts and protocols (TCP/IP DNS DHCP etc.).
Experience in handling and remediating security vulnerabilities and knowledge of security standards and practices.
Strong analytical skills and experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information and train end users.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate within a team and support other team members.
