Job Description
About the Role:
As a Principal Application Support Engineer youll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability performance and success of our VALT video recording and playback platform. Youll serve as an escalation point solving complex server application and network issues while helping shape the future of our technology through your insights and experience.
What Youll Do:
- Diagnose analyze and resolve server and network issues remotely to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Manage and maintain customer server environments to ensure uptime performance and stability.
- Perform remote installations and configurations of VALT software related server equipment and network configurations
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation expert resolving advanced support issues quickly and effectively.
- Test and configure new environments prior to deployment including server and networking setups.
- Provide technical guidance to on-site installers during field deployments
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence new features based on customer needs and field insights.
- Assist with testing and validation of hardware accessories and new software functionality.
What You Bring:
- 5 years of hands-on experience with server and network infrastructure-installation maintenance and advanced troubleshooting.
- 5 years supporting client environments with a focus on systems integration and enterprise software.
- 5 years of remote server administration experience managing virtual and physical systems across multiple platforms.
- Expertise in supporting LEMP stack environments (Linux Nginx MySQL PHP).
- High proficiency with remote access and support tools (e.g. TeamViewer GoToAssist Splashtop).
- Strong cross-platform skills with Windows macOS and Linux operating systems.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
