Life Saving Victoria is Victorias peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.
Our volunteers members employees and partners work together with communities educational institutions government agencies businesses and the broader aquatic industry to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.
Trainer and Assessor
Were looking for a Trainer and Assessor to join our Aquatic Capability team on a full-time basis. Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Lead Specialist - Training & Assessment Aquatic this role will be responsible for:
Delivering high-quality training in open water pool-based and first aid programs aligned with LSV values and standards.
Delivering courses to all client groups using current LSV training course and resources adhering to LSV session plans delivery expectations and course structures and adhere and contribute to all compliance requirements.
Supporting and ensuring adherence to VET ASQA and Industry standards in partnership with the LSV Quality Assurance personnel.
Driving business growth by actively selling LSV services and products to industry education and public markets fostering relationships and strengthening partnerships with current and potential training partners.
Supporting the marketing efforts for both existing and new LSV products and services while proactively identifying opportunities for promotion.
Who are you
Youre a confident and passionate trainer with experience delivering engaging high-quality vocational education in aquatic safety first aid or emergency response. You also have the below skills experience and qualifications:
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessmentincluding professional development evidence and industry currency in line with ASQA / VET requirements.
Hold (or be willing to obtain) current qualifications in Pool Lifeguard Community Surf Lifesaving Certificate and Provide First Aid.
Previous experience working in aquatic safety roles such as pool lifeguarding swim teaching or beach lifeguarding (including volunteer positions).
Ability to conduct flexible assessments and work independently.
A valid Victorian Drivers Licence and willingness to travel within Victoria (vehicle provided within salary package).
Hold (or be willing to obtain) a VIC Employee Working with Children Check.
