Position Summary:
Under the direction of the National Executive of Special Education the Campus Director develops coordinates and supervises the delivery of programs for students on the Autism Spectrum. Provides leadership in articulating and coordinating campus programsand ensuring compliance with State and Federal guidelines/regulations. Ensure the implementation of special education programs at the assigned campuses; confers with Campus Director and Regional Directors
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Masters Degree (preferred)
- Special Education Certification required
Experience
- 5 years experience in Special Eduction
- 2 years experience in a leadership role
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- In-depth knowledge of the Autism spectrum
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures education of special education students
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to make sound decisions within the parameters of authority
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Submits reports for legally required data as requested by the Regional Director(s) of Special Education
- Ensures the acquisition of curricular resources and related services
- Instructs special education personnel in developing instructional objectives and techniques for implementing IEPs for individuals on the Autism Spectrum
- Ensures parental involvement in the special education process including but not limited to IEP development
- Ensures appropriate and individualized staff development for Special Education teachers
- Monitors Special Education caseload and class size
- The person in this position needs to have the ability to be creative and innovative as well as a problem-solver and strategic thinker
- Other abilities include maintaining emotional control under stress maintaining professional interactions leadership multitasking and performing under a tight deadline
- Advocates nurtures and sustains a school culture and instructional program cursive to learning and staff professional growth
- Assists in ensuring the management of the organization operation and resources for safe efficient and effective learning environments
- Ensure implementation of TEA Positive Behavior Support course and certification including the use of restraint and time out
- May require occasional prolonged and irregular hours
- Limited travel during the first year of employment
- All other related duties as assigned
