The Districts core mission is to mitigate the risk of flooding in Harris County which boasts a population of over 4.7 million and includes the City of Houston the fourth largest city in the United States. The Districts responsibilities extend to approximately 1500 channels spanning nearly 2500 miles over 60 regional stormwater detention basins covering more than 10000 acres and several wetlands mitigation banks such as Greens Bayou.
What you will do atHarris County Flood Control District:
The Harris County Flood Control District is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Vegetation Management Inspector.
Responsible for inspecting and providing quality control of the Districts drainage and channel maintenance projects. The Inspector will work closely with outside contractors to inspect streams and bayous for needed maintenance including turf establishment mowing debris removal selective clearing tree planting and hazardous tree removal.
