About the program
This is a structured development program designed to kickstart your career and allow you to grow both personally and professionally while contributing to UCBs ambition to improve the lives of patients.
This Graduate Development Program is a 2-year rotational program consisting of 3 rotations of 8 months within the Patient Evidence organization and Global Quality Assurance. The Patient Evidence organization encompasses a range of departments including Global Regulatory Affairs Global Pharmacovigilance Global Clinical Science & Operations and Medical Communities. These functions are integral in setting the strategy for our drug candidates and building the evidence that resonates most with our stakeholders shaping UCBs current and future portfolio.
Through this program you will gain practical hands-on experience that will allow you to build a strong foundation to pursue a career in a biopharmaceutical environment while expanding your understanding of an international business ecosystem. You will gain knowledge and develop skills in a dynamic multifaceted setting where you will navigate short-term medium-term and long-term objectives. This dynamic and diverse setting will offer you new opportunities and challenges each day ensuring that no two days are the same.
The rotations are predefined and can include the following departments:
- Global Regulatory Affairs: Gain insights to the work of Regulatory Affairs professionals who create innovative regulatory pathways and partnerships that expedite patient access to novel healthcare solutions. Be part of an ever-evolving field collaborating with teams that provide the regulatory input and leadership throughout the lifecycle of the product from initial first in man studies all the way to the point at which the product lifecycle comes to an end.
- Global Pharmacovigilance: Work in close collaboration with the Office of the Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance other key internal/external stakeholders and global/local partners. Play a critical role in building up and maintaining a system to efficiently maintain the Pharmacovigilance System Master File which is a legally binding document in place in UCB and all pharmaceuticals companies.
- Global Quality: Discover how globally integrated quality systems are developed and maintained to ensure sustainable compliance protect patients and uphold UCBs reputation. Learn how quality teams collaborate across functions to embed quality principles throughout the product lifecycleensuring that every step meets the highest standards of safety integrity and excellence.
- Global Clinical Science & Operations: Gain insights into how clinical studies are designed and delivered to reflect patient preferences and generate meaningful evidence. Learn how partnerships with patients and stakeholders are shaped to create value across the drug development journey and explore how digital technologies and innovative approaches are used to improve patient outcomes and advance the future of clinical research.
- Medical Communities: Explore how partnerships with medical communities are built to transform outcomes for patients living with immunological neurological and rare diseases. Gain exposure to how scientific exchange and collaboration help elevate standards of care and promote equitable access to innovative treatments and how Medical Affairs teams foster strong purpose-driven connections across UCB to support impactful and trusted engagement worldwide.
Who youll work with
You will have the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of people across and beyond the Patient Evidence organization. Youll be part of a global organization in more than 40 countries with major hubs located in Belgium China Germany Japan the UK and the US responsible for the full scope of development activities leading up to the launch of new and innovative products.
You will be part of a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about creating value for patients now and into the future. You will interact with experienced managers and subject matter experts who will provide guidance and coaching throughout your rotations. In addition you will be assigned a mentor for career support and guidance as well as a buddy who will provide advice and guidance on different aspects of working at UCB.
Finally you will also be part of UCB Early Talent community and connect with other graduates across the organization through learning and development sessions networking and social activities.
What youll learn
Throughout the 2-year program you will be assigned to different projects and teams that will allow you to develop essential skills such as project management problem-solving continuous improvement. By working in 3 different teams you will be exposed to a broad scope of activities helping you to gain expertise knowledge around drug development. By the end of the program you will have a well-rounded understanding of our business and be equipped with the skills and knowledge to take on new challenges and build the career that is right for you. The experience acquired in these 3 domains will enable you to either pursue a specialized career in one of these areas or pursue a generalist career path where you will benefit from the comprehensive knowledge you will have gained.
Although you will receive support and guidance throughout the program we expect you to take ownership of your development and actively contribute not only to your own growth but also to the collective success of your team.
Interested We are looking for:
- Recently graduated with a scientific/data analyst background and a strong interest for sciences
- Less than 2 years relevant work experience
- Fluent in English
- Proactive and hands-on
- Collaborative and value teamwork

- Committed to making a meaningful impact
Practical information
- Start date: we are looking for 2 graduates able to start full-time from September/October 2025. Flexibility can be considered based on the candidates availability.
- Right to work: candidates must have the right to work in Belgium to be eligible for the program.
