Job Description

Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in a Human Services Related Field preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Handle with Care within 3 months of hire.
Licenses:
  • Current NC Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
Minimum Work Experience:
  • Computer skills previous EMR experience preferred.
  • Medical Technologypreferred.
  • 1 year experience preferred.

TheCNAson the Behavioral Health Unit must be passionate about providing the highest level of care and service to our patients. These team members are direct patient care providers responsible for positive role modeling crisis intervention and patient safety. They assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. CNAs communicate and collaborate with care team members in implementing the plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes. They utilize information to continuously improve patient care and practice to enhance outcomes.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing grooming eating and ambulation.
  • Answers call lights and responds to patients needs appropriately and promptly.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked clean and orderly.
  • Collects and documents patient information as needed (including weight and vital signs).
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN including monitoring vital signs possibly taking blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
  • Transfers moves and repositions patients as assigned.
  • Lead/ wrap up goal groups.
