Compensation Package:
JOB SUMMARY: The COMPASS Partner participates in all COMPASS activities meeting with COMPASS members and partnering with them to advance their goals and the overall programmatic goal of decreasing poverty in neighborhoods of ward 7 and ward 8. The position works with COMPASS staff interns and contractors in the design and development of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule meetings at times that are convenient for individuals and families.
Provide back-up for staff and interns as needed.
Assess safety structure the environment and use clinical strategies designed to promote safety.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods (i.e. communication skills interpersonal skills problem-solving skills etc.) to assist members with reaching their goals.
Collaborate with individuals and families to develop goals and service plans. Continually assess members strengths and needs.
Advocate for and provide concrete goods and services (including transportation) that are directly related to the members goals while teaching ways to be self-sufficient. Collaborate and advocate with formal and informal community resources and systems while teaching members to advocate for themselves.
Complete and submit all clinical documentation according to the COMPASS Clinical Timeline.
Report and notify management regarding safety concerns.
Implement strategies to improve personal and program performance resulting from continuous quality improvement processes (i.e. audits supervision case consultation professional development plans performance reviews etc.)
Engage with the community through Pop Ups and volunteer engagements.
Work with COMPASS Interns staff and the Community Liaison to develop and arrange Pop Ups and volunteer opportunities in the community.
Participate in community events as requested or as needed by the Program Manager.
Support the Community Liaison with the development and execution of group sessions
Assist in the continued development and design of the COMPASS Program. Work with COMPASS Interns staff and Program Manager to define develop and implement programmatic components and procedures.
Participate in Agency community and all external meetings as requested.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Masters degree in social work from The Catholic University of America.
Social Work License in the appropriate jurisdiction LGSW District of Columbia.
2 years experience working with individuals and families as a COMPASS Intern.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
Full-Time
