Commencement Date: As soon as practicable
Tenure: Part Time Fixed Term
SalaryRange:$53.71- $78.64 per hour pending experience
Closing Date: Monday 14 July 2025 unless filled prior

About the role
St Benedicts Catholic School Shawis seeking is seeking an experienced and dedicatedSchool Officer - Library Servicesto commence as soon as practicable and conclude on 5 Decemeber 2025. This is aFixed Term Full Time positioncompleting 12hours per week.
The Teacher-Librarian is a professional who holds both a teaching qualification and a qualification in librarianship recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and the Australian School Library Association (ASLA).
As an educator and an information specialist the Teacher-Librarian works with the administration team library staff teachers and students to support the schools curriculum through:
- The provision of responsive and dynamic resource and information services to the school community
- Collaboration within the school community to integrate these services into teaching and learning programmes.
The Teacher-Librarian maintains the responsibility for the overall management of the school library and information service. The Teacher-Librarian is a focal point between the provision of information services and the school community and must perform the role in a professional welcoming and helpful manner.

Mandatory Criteria/Professional Registration/Other
- Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers
- Current Drivers Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
