JOB DESCRIPTION
East Grand Middle School is seeking a paraeducator inspired to be supportive student-centered and
growth-minded.
Summary:
All employees of East Grand Middle School work together to support our students academic & social
emotional learning and growth. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below we seek
paraprofessionals who are collaborative with colleagues empathetic in their relationships with
students and families and willing to work hard to ensure success for students.
Essential Duties:
*Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or
skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staff
*Model and foster independent thinking skills creative problem solving and abstract reasoning
*Show empathy and understanding of students and holds students accountable
* Communicate consistently and effectively with students parents and colleagues
*Perform assigned supervision of students Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of
information about students in the school environment and community
*Develop a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect with colleagues and students
* Communicate and collaborate with teachers on needs of the classroom
*Facilitate resolution of problems that might arise with students
* Knowledge of and adherence to approved communication pathways
* Complete other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g. the GED); and
*Aptitude for the work to be performed
* Interest in children and education
* Written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively
* Strong self-starter; able to work with limited direction
* Ability to apply superb judgment
Working Environment:
East Grand Middle School is a public school located in Granby Colorado 90 miles NW of Denver and
20 miles from the Winter Park Ski area. School is in session Monday Thursday from 8 a.m. 4:15
p.m. EGMS has approximately 300 students in grades 6-8 and serves the communities of Winter
Park Fraser Tabernash Granby Grand Lake Hot Sulphur Springs and beyond.
