Under supervision of the Director of Housing Services assist formerly homeless clients achieve lasting recovery from homelessness through supportive peer counseling mentoring and social support. Promotes the clients achievement of self-sufficiency by providing concrete examples and goals that will assist them in maintaining their housing and medical outcomes. Addresses individual needs for transportation employment and assisting clients through the application process for available resources. Interacts with clients in a way that fosters health mutual respect clear communication and positive self regard. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide intensive personal support to housing program participants on an ongoing needed basis.
- Assist clients with personal activities including moving into their housing shopping transportation employment or disability issues
- Increase clients awareness of available community and on-site services applicable to individual needs and assist them in accessing those resources in a way which encourages personal responsibility and self-sufficiency
- Assist in the initial screening and assessment of program applicants.
- Responsible for collection and disbursement of donations to the Housing Program.
- Participate in departmental and center-wide quality assurance initiatives
- Participate in staff meetings in-service training and workshops as deemed appropriate by the Director of Shelter Services
Resident Guest and Internal Customer Focus Is sensitive to emotional spiritual and practical needs of resident families guests and staff members in all interactions. Provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by residents families and coworkers. Adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. Reports and/or corrects problems related to safety cleanliness and comfort of resident and work areas. Universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques are followed. Understands own role facility safety plans and procedures related to fire weather and other disasters is demonstrated. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions: - Personal car and valid Florida drivers license
- Physically able to work in a fast paced multitasked environment
- Able to lift and move furniture such as beds couches and other items.
- Work various shifts as required to ensure that services are adequately administered and accessible to clients.
