Pay Range: $20.00 to $24.00/hr
The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) is seeking a part-time Appeals Administrative Support professional to join the Group Benefits Division. This temporary position will assist with the processing of grievance and appeals files related to the Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP). The selected candidate will support the Grievance Administrator and Appeal Specialist in administrative and documentation functions to ensure efficient and compliant case handling.
Prepare and maintain grievance and appeal case files (both electronic and hard copy).
Update and maintain tracking logs and summaries using Microsoft Excel.
Generate acknowledgment and notification letters using Microsoft Word.
Draft correspondence to claim appellants and other stakeholders.
Scan merge and organize large document files in a specified order.
Index and manage documents in SharePoint including audio/video file organization.
Maintain filing systems and assist with closing out resolved appeal cases.
Mail appeal decision letters using the certified mail process.
Perform general administrative support tasks using Adobe Microsoft Office Outlook and WebEx.
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Typing proficiency of 50 words per minute.
23 years of experience providing administrative or technical office support.
Experience with SharePoint or similar document management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Adobe and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.
