Position Number:129860Position Title (Classification Title):Coordinator I 129860Working Title:Fraternity and Sorority Life CoordinatorJob Summary:The Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) Coordinator is responsible for supporting UWFs FSL community through the coordination of educational programming and training for more than 400 FSL members. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life the Coordinator provides mentorship policy guidance and leadership development opportunities for current members of the FSL community. The Coordinator serves as the co-advisor to all active chapters and councils. This role involves coordinating programs focused on risk management academic success new member education and organizational health while collaborating with campus partners alumni and inter/national organization headquarters. The Coordinator also contributes to assessment and budget processes and supervises student staff.

All Student Engagement employees will assist with additional Student Engagement department-wide initiatives and campus events as assigned.

Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.Position Qualifications:Experience engaging with student groups or non-academic advising. Familiarity with basic assessment methods and principles related to student affairs programs and services. Experience with conflict resolution or managing challenging student interactions. General understanding of campus life and current issues in higher education. Ability to respond appropriately in urgent or unexpected situations with guidance. Ability to identify problems and contribute to solutions. Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information. Computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in engaging with local regional or national representatives within the Fraternity & Sorority system. Experience in developing coordinating and leading programs and group training sessions. General knowledge of local state and federal laws which impact the work associated with Fraternity & Sorority Life.Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 60% - Support Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) chapter operations and foster collaboration across councils to build a cohesive FSL community. Coordinate educational programming and training to promote the academic success of over 400 FSL members. Serve as co-advisor for chapter and council support. Manage the annual registration and recognition processes and ensure compliance with university and national organization policies. Plan and implement signature events and targeted programs focused on academic achievement new member education leadership development wellness service risk management and student engagement. Provide direct supervision and daily oversight of one Program Assistant including task delegation developmental feedback and support for administrative functions related to Fraternity and Sorority Life. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Collaborate with student affairs professionals alumni and inter/national organization headquarters to develop and implement programs and services that strengthen FSL involvement with an emphasis on student retention success and career readiness. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Coordinate the planning and implementation of program and learning outcome assessments for FSL including data collection and analysis. Collaborate with the Assistant Director to support budget management and financial oversight monitor expenditures assist with annual budget planning and ensure compliance with university fiscal policies. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Represent the Office of Student Engagement at Student Engagement department-wide initiatives and campus events. Represent Student Engagement at all home football games. Ensure FSL student group compliance with University policies and regulations at events. Respond to incidents as appropriate. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Serve on University committees task forces and teams as assigned. Represents Student Engagement the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Affairs and/or the University at/on local state regional and/or national events/committees. - (Essential)
