Sound like a familia youre ready to join Heres the details on what we are looking for in this position:
We are building a brand-new Civil Engineering department. Your leadership will shape it from the ground up. In the early weeks and months you will be hands-on with grading drainage substation site planning foundation design and structural analysis. As the workload grows your role will shift into full-time supervision leading hiring efforts mentoring team members and ensuring quality across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil design tasks including site grading drainage substation layout foundations and structural modification work
- Recruit onboard and mentor junior and mid-level civil engineers
- Oversee self-performed civil packages and review support-team deliverables
- Coordinate with clients internal electrical teams utilities and contractors
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with NESC local codes and geotechnical standards
- Assist with civil scoping estimating and proposal development
- Develop and refine internal processes design standards and documentation
- Support occasional site visits and field activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering;
- PE (Civil or Structural) strongly preferred
- 7 or more years of experience in utility substation and civil site design including grading drainage foundations and structural analysis
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and mentoring staff
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D structural analysis software and LPile.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach to leadership
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel 10 to 20 percent based on project needs
