Key job responsibilities
As a Security Engineer at Project Kuiper youll help protect our constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites ground network infrastructure and customer terminal systems. Youll leverage your expertise in data analytics and tooling to build scalable security solutions that safeguard both space and ground segments of our network.
* Conduct sophisticated analytics of our risk repository across space and ground systems
* Design and implement Day 1 style tooling to secure satellite communications infrastructure
* Build and own comprehensive compliance tools that meet both terrestrial and space-based requirements
* Develop security monitoring and analytics platforms using OpenSearch and related technologies
* Partner with hardware software and network teams to implement security controls across the Kuiper ecosystem

- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP DNS and TCP/IP
- Strong proficiency in data analytics including SQL and object databases
- Expert-level Python skills with experience in pandas and JSON manipulation
- Hands-on experience with AWS tooling including SigV4 authentication
- Deep understanding of application security principles and best practices
- 2 years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience secure coding identity management and authentication software development cryptography system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with graph databases and network analysis
- Expertise in OpenSearch/ElasticSearch implementations
- Knowledge of vector databases for security analytics
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27K
- Masters degree in a relevant field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
