We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational High School HVAC Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and a commitment to providing students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers in the HVAC industry. Retired teachers may be eligible for the Critical Shortage Waiver through the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) allowing you to return to the classroom without affecting your pension benefits!Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive HVAC curriculum that aligns with MA DESE standards integrating hands-on training and real-world applications. Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction in HVAC principles including installation maintenance repair of HVAC systems refrigeration electrical components and industry safety standards. Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and practical skills providing constructive feedback to support student growth. Classroom and Lab Management: Establish and maintain a safe positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes collaboration and hands-on learning. Collaboration: Work closely with other vocational program instructors to integrate HVAC skills into broader vocational training ensuring students receive a well-rounded education. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices in HVAC education. Parent and Community Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and foster relationships with local HVAC businesses and organizations to support student learning and job placement. Advisory Role: Act as a mentor or advisor to students assisting them with academic challenges and guiding them in career exploration and job readiness.
