Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Co-Op Position

Job Location: Dayton Ohio (100% in person)

Our Division: Civil Construction Field systems (CCFS)

**Please Note: this is a 40 hour per week Co-op opportunity that runs through December 2025**

What You Will Do:

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Co-Op program you will be an integral part of our team supporting mechanical engineering staff on diverse design challenges.

You will gain valuable experience in documenting mechanical systems through solid model designs detailed drawings and diagrams and by creating bills of materials. Youll also learn to initiate documentation release and change orders.

We encourage you to participate in design verification testing present your findings and contribute to ongoing product improvement and cost reduction efforts.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in on-machine data instrumentation collection and analysis as well as contribute well-reasoned ideas to ongoing design and development projects.

We expect you to provide a satisfactory level of technical support to staff engineers and assist with fabrication and installation activities.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program ideally in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

  • A strong aptitude and eagerness to learn follow guidance and contribute diligently to team efforts.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software is expected. Experience with ProEngineer/Creo is a plus and prior exposure to any 3D modeling software will be beneficial.

  • Familiarity and practical ability with common hand tools used in mechanical projects such as those involved in basic vehicle maintenance.

  • Experience with sheet metal and cable assembly design is a plus.

  • Exposure to hydraulic systems is a plus.

  • Familiarity with heavy machinery is a plus.

  • Experience with the coding design or installation of mechanical control systems is a plus.

  • Experience with sensor data collection or coursework in measurements is a plus.
