Reporting to the Associate Director Field Applicationsthis exciting and challenging role involves working closely with the sales team to provide high quality technical expertise consultancy and representation for Oxford Nanopore Technologies Inc.s products ensuring the successful application of the products to our Bay Area customers research. The successful candidate will be working to strengthen the companys relationship with scientists encouraging them to view Nanopore as the preferred supplier of solutions for their work.
The role is highly technical and involves providing pre-sales activities including presentations seminars and technical calls. The Field Applications Scientist (FAS) will be supporting customers in all stages of technology adoption including site readiness assessments experimental design use of Nanopores devices and downstream data analysis.

What Were Looking For...
Youll have a solid background of lab experience with proven knowledge and understanding of genetics molecular biology cell biology and related fields as well as theoretical knowledge and practical experience in novel experimental design and appropriate sample preparation methodologies (DNA isolation fragmentation etc.). Youll be used to working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment with the ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at one time. Your communication and interpersonal skills are a key strength and you have the technicalcompetency to discuss complex topics in genomics with experienced researchers. Youll provide information back to customers in a helpful courteous positive and professional manner.
Well expect you to have a PhD in life sciences or equivalent experiencein a support or customer facing role preferred. Youre a confident presenter comfortable training other scientists and haveexcellent troubleshooting writing and editing skills. Youre a competent user of Microsoft Office and ideally will have used SalesForce or a similar CRM database. Linux experience is a plus.
Frequent travel to customer sites in the Bay Area.
The salary for this role is between $97479and $121849USD. The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.
