Job Title: Transfer Evaluation Specialist

Summary of Position: The Transfer Evaluation and Process Improvement Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the academic success and smooth transition of transfer students. This position is responsible for evaluating transfer credit managing course equivalencies and utilizing Indianas Core Transfer Library. In addition the role supports transcript processing and graduation certification contributes to process improvement efforts within the Registrars Office and serves as a backup in key operational areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Transfer Credit Evaluation:
- Evaluate and process transfer credits for incoming and continuing students in accordance with institutional policies
- Maintain and update course equivalency records in collaboration with academic departments
- Utilize Indianas Core Transfer Library to facilitate seamless and accurate credit transfers
- Process alternative credit sources such as Advanced Placement (AP) and CLEP exams
- Transcript and Records Support:
- Serve as backup for transcript processing including fulfilling transcript requests and verifying transfer hours
- Update student records to reflect approved transfer work for IWU-Marion students and graduates
- Graduation and Certification:
- Assist in certifying that students have completed all degree requirements prior to graduation
- Recommend appropriate alternatives for satisfying degree requirements when applicable
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for streamlining and enhancing the transfer evaluation process
- Participate in ongoing office-wide improvement initiatives aimed at efficiency accuracy and student satisfaction
- Cross-Functional Support:
- Serve as a backup in various operational areas of the Registrars Office especially during peak times such as registration and graduation
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Education - Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
Experience - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Familiarity with Indianas Core Transfer Library or a willingness to learn
- Experience in transfer credit evaluation academic advising student records or registrar services preferred
- Prior experience in higher education and/or with student information systems (e.g. Colleague Banner or similar systems) preferred
- Knowledge of or interest in process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) is a plus
