Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR
MONTHLY SALARY: $6038 - $7878
MONDAY-FRIDAY 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.
PLUS AN EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE

THIS RECRUITMENT IS TO FILL ONE FULL-TIME VACANCY IN THEPUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENTAND TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST TO BE USED FOR FUTURE VACANCIES.

SUMMARY: Reviews civil engineering project plans and specifications and inspects contractor construction projects for compliance with approved plans and conformance with City safety and construction codes and regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act may include any of the following representative duties knowledge and skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Training and Experience Guidelines:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND three years of journey-level experience in general construction or building inspection experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

A valid California State Drivers License and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record may be required.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Work is performed in a standard office environment. May be required to travel to various sites locations and/or events. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours; employees are required to assume duties of a disaster worker in the event of a locally declared emergency.
