Job Description:

About the Role:
The Peer Support Specialist provides person-centered support services that promote recovery resilience and wellness for adults receiving services through MaineGenerals Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role is a key part of a multidisciplinary team including case managers mental health nurse practitioners nurses employment specialists and more.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide mentorship and education related to wellness and recovery
  • Help individuals identify needs and connect with appropriate services and supports
  • Collaborate with ACT team members to support treatment goals
  • Educate patients and staff about peer support and recovery-oriented services
  • Accurately document interactions and interventions in accordance with healthcare standards

What Were Looking For:

  • Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) preferred at time of hire
  • CIPSS certification required within 12 months of hire
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving record required
  • Strong communication critical thinking and organizational skills
  • A passion for supporting others in their recovery journey
