We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the HSE division of Ignitis where youll be responsible for overseeing the environmental standards policies and initiatives within Ignitis Group. This involves ensuring adherence to environmental regulations at company national and local levels as well as identifying and addressing current and potential environmental issues and risks. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Overseeing the development and execution of Ignitis Groups Environmental Management System
- Building and maintaining proactive relationships with governmental environmental bodies to optimize operations and manage costs effectively
- Developing and tracking environmental performance indicators for Ignitis Group providing management with clear and current updates on environmental compliance and performance
- Creating and implementing environmental programs throughout Ignitis Groups operations ensuring thorough application
- Ensuring compliance with environmental commitments and legal requirements
- Liaising and engaging with regulatory authorities and Ignitis Group internal environmental teams
- Conducting environmental audits and ensuring follow-up actions are completed
- Standardizing operational procedures to align with environmental compliance assessing risks and coordinating with regulatory authorities
Communications & Relationships:
- Fostering effective communication and relationships across business interfaces
- Possessing strong networking skills both internally and externally to build robust relationships with industry counterparts
- Ensuring adherence to compliance and conducting internal audits
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Environmental Science Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in environmental management
- Familiarity with Lithuanian environmental legislation and compliance processes
- Solid technical expertise in the energy sector or similar industries with an aptitude for rapid learning and adaptation
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities in a diverse cultural setting
- Capacity to engage effectively across all organizational levels from field operations to senior management
- Professional relationships with governmental and public sector entities to support future growth and operational flexibility
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with proficiency in English and Lithuanian
- Strong problem-solving skills
