In this pivotal role youll manage the technical components of our Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) obligations across both the Terrorism and Cyclone Reinsurance Pools. Youll be instrumental in embedding the evolving ARPC framework into our operations using your technical reinsurance data and regulatory expertise to help mitigate compliance and operational risks.

What youll do:

  • Provide specialist operational and technical support across ARPC regulatory submissions reinsurance premium ceding and claims recoveries.
  • Maintain and improve ARPC related reconciliation and reporting processes.
  • Act as a conduit across Finance Reinsurance Claims Tech Actuarial Legal Risk and Compliance to ensure accurate and compliant submissions.
  • Identify and manage BAU gaps and risks introduced by new systems or current system changes.
  • Ensure smooth transition of ARPC project deliverables to BAU through structured documentation training and process embedding.
  • Support the management and remediation of ARPC regulatory risks or audit findings.
  • Support/manage internal audits as well (KPMG Deloitte) for both ARPC Claims and RI Premiums.
  • Develop system and data knowledge for ARPC-related platforms and tools.
  • Provide key Operation Function support relating to Reinsurance Property & Natural Hazard Claims.

What youll Bring:

  • Undergraduate degree covering at least one of the following areas: business law accounting finance or actuarial studies. Mandatory
  • Post graduate qualifications in business or other related management disciplines. Desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience at a senior level managing reinsurance claims regulatory obligations and/or related risk management or similar.
  • Multi stakeholder relationship experience gained within an Insurance Reinsurance or related organisation.
  • Insurance-related exposure in risk governance and compliance experience desirable not essential.
  • Strong insurance or reinsurance knowledge particularly knowledge of reinsurance treaty wordings and clauses with an ability to interpret and understand the contracts.
  • Strong empirical analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage external supplier relationships to achieve best practice outcomes organisation.
  • A very high level of customer empathy and focus; able to quickly build trust and good rapport and confront issues in a direct and honest manner.
