The Opportunity

We are seeking a Floor Coordinator to join our team at Kareena Private Hospital. This is a key leadership position that is accountable for efficient and effective operational management of the Maternity Services successful candidate will support our junior staff in our Birth Unit and Special Care Nursery as the After-Hours Clinical Midwifery support for the Unit. You will demonstrate extensive knowledge in these areas and have the ability to take a patient load as required in Post Natal.

Your duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Support and contribute to planning implementing and evaluating care practices processes and services.
  • Ensure compliance with policies procedures and legislative requirements to uphold best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Maternity Team to achieve excellence in care delivery.
  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Work closely with on-shift doctors and Hospital After Hours Managers to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to best practices.
  • Report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager contributing to strategic goals and objectives.

Opportunity for a part time role where you will lead our afternoon shift from 6.30pm to 7am on a rotating roster.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will be a positive and effective leader with the ability to motivate others. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to coordinate and motivate a large team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience within maternity and birthing
  • Experience in neonatal resuscitation is required
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective role model in the area of clinical practice
  • Sound Computer skills in MS Office suite (Word Excel and Outlook)
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Analytical and ability to problem solve
  • Critical care experience desirable but not essential.

To be successful you will need to be available to work a 7-day rotating roster.
