Lutheran Services is a not-for-profit organisation providing exceptional care and support to communities across Queensland for the past 90 years. The business provides aged care retirement living and home care services for older people with community services including mental health disability youth and family and domestic and family violence support. They draw on a rich Lutheran tradition of care placing the wellbeing of their clients at the heart of everything they do. Their people love what they do supporting over 6000 people each year across more than 25 sites.

About The Role:

The newly redesigned position ofHead of People Servicesis a key leadership role supporting the organisations next phase of strategic growth. As a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team this role will lead a broad people portfolioincluding employee experience workforce planning WHS ER/IR L&D and volunteer programswhile playing a pivotal role in shaping a culture that reflects the organisations faith-informed mission and commitment to care.

Lutheran Services is commencing the implementation of a new five-year strategic plan with a strong focus on workforce capability and growth - making this an exciting time to join and help shape the future of care delivery across Queensland.

With a workforce expected to significantly expand in coming years this role offers the opportunity to design and deliver future-focused people services and strategy at enterprise level. The successful candidate will step into a highly capable team and contribute directly to organisational transformation service expansion and values-aligned workforce capability.

Key areas of delivery include:

• Workforce strategy and planning design and implement a three-year workforce strategy to support future growth and capability uplift.
• Employee experience and lifecycle transformation- reimagine hire-to-retire mechanisms including onboarding EVP performance and benefits.
• Enterprise WHS and wellbeing leadership embed preventative safety practices and lead a holistic wellbeing strategy across all service areas.
• Industrial and employee relations navigate EA obligations coach leaders and ensure values-aligned outcomes.
• Organisational development and capability frameworks drive cultural alignment leadership development and competency-based workforce planning.

About You:

You are an experienced and strategic HR executive who brings a proactive people-first mindset to everything you do. With proven capability leading high-performing HR teams and delivering people services across complex multi-site organisations youre energised by the opportunity to support major growth and shape people strategies from the ground up. Your background may span aged care health NFP or other values-aligned service sectors - or commercial settings where human dignity and employee wellbeing have remained central to your leadership.

Youre confident navigating complexity engaging with executive stakeholders and leading change. Most importantly youre someone who understands the power of culture and brings both heart and clarity to building respectful inclusive and purpose-driven workplaces.
