The Engineering team builds and operates a high performance scalable reliable and secure technology platform that will allow us to transform education and deliver effective learning experiences to every student in the world. We do this by building for tomorrow failing fast and early and empowering each other to make things better. Interested in learning more about what were working on Visit the Prodigy Engineering blog at seeking a Junior Game Developer to join our team working on our flagship math MMO game utilized by 7 million students monthly. In this role youll have the chance to influence the way millions of students engage with math through gaming enriching both their learning and enjoyment. Youll contribute to creating engaging online math experiences where students embark on quests level up and collect virtual pets all while learning from an extensive range of 1500 math topics.
Your Impact
Develop high-quality code to support new features in the game that create a dynamic and ever evolving experience
Collaborate with product owners game designers artists and other team members to ensure the regular release of the games treasure track(Battle Pass)
Implement and help innovate in-game festivals to ensure an evolving and dynamic in-game experience
Build tooling that helps streamline designers workflows and enables them to quickly and safely augment the player experience
Maintain a balance between development speed and long-term future-proofing prioritizing speed when necessary.
Offer technical feedback for other developers code to ensure best practises are followed and a culture of continuous improvement is fostered
About You
You have a passion for gaming and feel comfortable developing in Typescript
Foundational knowledge of programming concepts
Solving problems energizes you you enjoy creating quick feedback loops to create a hypothesis gather feedback quickly and iterate on a solution
Passionate about developing communication skills both verbal and written comfortable taking on the challenge of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Technology is of huge interest and you stay on top of industry trends through a variety of mediums

Familiarity with React
Experience with statically typed languages
Core Technologies
Our game is built with a custom HTML5 engine and editor based on PixiJS developed in TypeScript.
We also use an Electron App editor developed with React/TypeScript.
