ASSISTANT MENS BASKETBALL COACH

Part-Time

Bridgewater College a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Mens Basketball Coach to begin immediately. This is a part-time position reporting to the Head Mens Basketball Coach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the head coach in all facets of a Division III mens basketball program
  • Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College
  • Conducting on-court coaching during practices and games
  • Developing detailed scouting reports for game opponents
  • Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes particularly in regard to academics and player development
  • Complying with all NCAA conference and college policies and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Prior collegiate coaching experience and/or competitive collegiate playing experience required.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable by the colleges auto insurance carrier

GENERAL INFORMATION:Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia. Bridgewater offers bachelors degrees in approximately 60 majors and minors along with four graduate programs pre-professional programs such as medicine and law and teacher licensure. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with 23 intercollegiate athletic teams. The vibrant residential campus is located in the town of Bridgewater Virginia near the city of Harrisonburg in the center of the Shenandoah Valley.
