Job Description

The Recovery Technician will be responsible for operating a straight truck while collecting used oil filters and plastics throughout the designated province. This individual will require a high level of professionalism and customer service which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote GFLs wide range of service offerings.

What youll do:

  • Oversee cargo handling secure loads ensure compliance with regulations and perform trip inspections for safety and roadworthiness.
  • Maintain and verify load-related documentation including manifests driver logbooks and bills of lading ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Operate trucks safely maneuvering for loading/unloading inspecting vehicles reporting defects and adhering to transportation laws.
  • Communicate effectively with customers coworkers and the public while ensuring timely and professional deliveries.
  • Perform loading/unloading duties clean up debris provide feedback on issues and train others when required.

Whats required:

    • High School diploma minimum.
      Certification from recognized Truck Driving School.
      Valid Commercial Drivers license.
      Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
      Manual dexterity ability to lift 75 lbs required.
      Overtime as required.
      Weekend work may be required on call schedule in effect on weekly basis.
