Seamsperson

The Role
You will be an essential member of our Stores team working as part of Ventias National Clothing Store Services contract for Defence. Perfect for an enthusiastic team player who is customer focussed and has great communication skills. You will assist with the daily operation of the Defence clothing store located within the Keswick Barracks.

This is a permanent part-time role 19 hours per week. Rostered Hours: Monday Wednesday Friday 9:30am 2:30pm and Tuesday 5:30pm 9:30pm.

Key responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Measure and fit customers for clothing items.
• Perform duties of sewing ranks insignia and badges to Defence specification.
• Sewing tasks including hemming alterations of waist bands/coat lengths and Medal mounting.
• Use of Defence IT Systems.
• Cash handling customer service and record keeping of customer orders.
• Ordering and receipting of stock.
• Stocktaking.

About you

• Experience with clothing alterations. (Required)
• Experience using industrial sewing machines. (Required)
• General computing skills. (Required)
• Experience working in a team / Customer Service environment.
• High attention to detail accuracy and time management.
• Scheduling workloads and meeting production deadlines.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
