Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
The Ideal Candidate would possess the following background philosophy and experience:
- Experience teaching in special education in an elementary school setting.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
- Monitoring Behaviour patterns of children and applying appropriate interventions.
- Effective organizational and classroom management skills are imperative.
- Ability to integrate and use technology in the classroom.
- Ability to create goals for Individual Program Plans as well as implement the plan for students.
- A strong ability to build relationships with elementary school students and parents.
- A willingness to contribute to the school community.
- Knowledge of English as a second language and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of The Regulated Classroom or a willingness to participate in professional learning
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset

All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills
