Reports to: Road Superintendent Location: Initial Placement To be determinedMinimum Qualifications:- Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good technical and mechanical skills
- Valid Class D license with Z endorsement with an acceptable abstract
- Ability to operate light medium and heavy equipment including but not limited to standard transmission tandem dump truck loader/backhoe snowplow/sander tractors chainsaws weed eaters etc.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7 County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures etc.)
Assets:- Experience with and demonstrated ability to operate road grader
- Knowledge related to Public Works
Duties:- Operate a variety of light medium and heavy equipment power and hand tools to perform maintenance repair construction tasks and winter control operations as related to Public Works type activities
- Other relevant duties as assigned
