Part-Time Position
Must have Open Availability including Weekends and Holidays
Hours may vary - Day shift or Evening shift
Starting Pay: $22.00/hour
TheHoliday Inn at the Portland Airport features 284 guest rooms and 13500 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is located less than a mile from the Portland International Airport seven miles from downtown Portland and nine miles from downtown Vancouver. The hotel has convenient access to Tri-met bus lines reaching the suburban areas of metro-Portland.
Work Performed:
TheBanquet Captainwill be tasked with the following duties responsibilities and assignments:
Directs setting up for tables correctly and uniformly in assigned areausingclean pressed linen clean unspotted silverware clean china with no chips or cracks clean unspottedglassware;
Plans the serving order and orchestrates its completion in a timely quiet and courteousmanner;
Guide direct and motivate banquetstaff and ensure the servers are ready to serve the meal when itsprepared;
Set-ups serves and/or breaks down coffee breaks receptions other special functions asassigned;
Maintain communication with the guest contact person for guestneeds;
Understand the maintenance and usage of all Audio-Visualequipment and set-up operate and dismantle audio-visualequipment required for each event.
Ableto perform job of Banquet Associate and BanquetBartender;
Able to understand departmental forecasting to ensure appropriate staffinglevels;
Ensures service standards are being followed and take corrective action when they arenot;
Qualifications:
Required Prior Experience:
Previous customer service experience
1 Year of banquet food service experience
Preferred Prior Experience:
Prior leadership experience
Required Licenses/ Certification:
Oregon Food Safety certificate- ServSafe Certification a Plus
OLCC Alcohol Service Permit
Physical:
Ability to lift pull and push up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend and squat repeatedly. Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
Other:
Must be flexible to working days early mornings evenings nights weekends and holidays.
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set years & depth of experience certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
