Job Description
Job Summary:
Rehearsal Assistants are temporary live-in staff for the Summer Music Academy (July 1026 for high school July 27August 2 for intermediate). They serve as the liaison between administrative staff and both conductors and counselors. Rehearsal Assistants live in the dorms are on-call to support student safety and well-being and help address concerns as they arise. They assist with training new counselors help plan and lead daily camper activities check in with students at meals support faculty and conductors and perform as needed. Rehearsal assistants are expected to maintain strong communication with the director and act as positive role models throughout the program.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a music background and an interest in working with students in a residential setting and at least one year experience as an SMA counselor. Experience in youth leadership prior involvement in the SMA program and the ability to build community are preferred. All counselors must attend a safety training and follow Ithaca Colleges health guidelines. Preference is given to current students in the School of Music Theater and Dance.
Pay Rate: $1211.65/ Week
