Senior Payroll Analyst
Location: Remote (Must be available during U.S. business hours)

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-driven and experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join a global team supporting U.S.-based clients with exceptional payroll accuracy compliance and reporting. This fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment excels in data integrity and enjoys collaborating across Finance HR and IT functions.
The Senior Payroll Analyst will be responsible for the full payroll lifecycle ensuring timely and accurate processing maintaining compliance with U.S. payroll regulations and providing insights through analytics and reporting. You ll be a subject matter expert in payroll systems and play a critical role in process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Operations
- Manage end-to-end U.S. multi-state payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
- Validate timesheets earnings bonuses commissions and deductions
- Process garnishments levies and special payroll items
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure payroll complies with federal state and local laws (FLSA IRS guidelines etc.
- Oversee timely submission of payroll tax filings (e.g. 941s W-2s)
- Support external and internal audits with accurate documentation
Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze payroll trends exceptions and anomalies
- Develop reports for leadership Finance and HR teams
- Recommend optimizations in workflows and systems
Systems & Process Improvement
- Assist with payroll software upgrades testing and implementation
- Collaborate with IT and vendors on configuration and issue resolution
- Partner with HRIS and Finance to ensure data alignment across platforms
Communication & Support
- Serve as point of contact for complex payroll-related inquiries
- Train and support junior team members as needed
- Maintain clear professional written and verbal communication in English
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance HR or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of U.S. payroll experience including multi-state payroll processing
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll laws tax regulations and compliance standards
- Proficiency in major payroll platforms (ADP Paychex Workday UKG etc.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP pivot tables data analysis)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Availability during standard U.S. working hours
Preferred Qualifications
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC designation
- Experience in a PEO or HR outsourcing environment
- Familiarity with benefits administration and integration
