Job Description

Safety Lead

Escondido CA

Full Time/Direct Hire

About:

The Site Safety Lead ensures safety compliance across one or more construction sites partnering with project foremen and reporting to the Regional or Safety Manager. This safety-sensitive role champions a strong proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and model a proactive safety culture; engage employees in safety initiatives.

  • Assist with safety planning: site safety plans risk assessments training needs.

  • Recognize safety achievements and coordinate employee recognition.

  • Develop and deliver site-specific safety orientations and technical training (e.g. fall protection lifts).

  • Conduct inspections enforce safety procedures and correct unsafe conditions.

  • Manage and track corrective actions from inspections and incidents.

  • Lead Toolbox Talks stand downs and awareness campaigns.

  • Coordinate safety documentation training records and incident reporting with general contractors.

  • Conduct safety walkthroughs with project teams and contractors.

  • Maintain safety records: permits LOTO logs training documentation.

  • Use safety data systems for reporting and tracking activities.

  • Respond to incidents lead investigations and liaise with regulatory bodies.

  • Escalate safety concerns within the project team.

  • Collaborate with leadership and clients to resolve safety issues.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years in construction (electrical preferred) with safety and leadership experience.

  • Preferred: OSHA 30 EM-385 Fall Protection Electrical Safety NFPA 70e Root Cause Analysis train-the-trainer certifications.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations (fall protection silica LOTO etc.).

  • Safety certifications (STS-C CHST) are a plus.

  • Excellent communication and training skills.

  • Skilled in incident response documentation and multitasking.

  • Positive team-oriented and proactive in promoting safety culture.
