Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on plasma machines Bystronic Laser Automation Systems Powercoat Systems Robotic Welding Systems IR Compressor Systems Press Brakes 2-Axis CNC Lathes 5-Axis CNC Mills and other manufacturing machinery.

This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime applying Lean and 5S methodologies and tracking key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to improve reliability and efficiency.

This is an hourly position starting at $39.65/hour with flexibility based on experience.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting repairs and preventive maintenance on plasma machines lasers press brakes CNC equipment and other machinery.

• Diagnose mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions.

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

• Apply Lean and 5S principles to optimize workspaces and maintenance processes.

• Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance.

• Track and analyze MTBF and MTTR metrics to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities part inventories and performance metrics.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree in a related field preferred.

• 7-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining 2-Axis CNC Lathes 5-Axis CNC Mills Bystronic Laser Automation System Powercoat Systems Robotic Welding Systems IR Compressor Systems Plasma Cutting Machines Laser Machines and Press Brakes is required.

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs reliability best practices and maintenance metric tracking.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems hydraulics pneumatics and electrical components.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools power tools and hand tools.

• Understanding of Lean manufacturing 5S methodology and maintenance KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to stand walk bend kneel crouch and climb ladders or scaffolding.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.

• Perform repetitive motions and use hand/power tools for extended periods.

• Work in environments with loud noise dust grease and varying temperatures. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required.

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses.
