The Director of Ministry & Partnership Outreach provides spiritual leadership and care for both residents and staff of the shelter. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing ministry programs coordinating outreach efforts and building strong ongoing relationships with local churches and faith-based organizations. The Director ensures that residents-including students in transitional programs-and staff have access to meaningful spiritual support discipleship opportunities and a network of faith community resources. The role also provides occasional support to the development team in fundraising events and donor engagement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Spiritual Leadership & Care - Provide pastoral care counseling and mentorship to residents and staff.
- Lead regular worship services prayer gatherings and Bible studies tailored to the shelters diverse community.
- Ensure all spiritual support is trauma-informed respectful and inclusive of diverse backgrounds.
Ministry Program Development - Design and oversee faith-based programming for residents including discipleship recovery-focused initiatives and spiritual enrichment events.
- Equip staff and volunteers with resources and guidance to support residents holistic well-being.
- Mentor and develop resident leaders through ministry involvement and service opportunities.
Church & Community Outreach - Establish and maintain active partnerships with local churches and ministries to support Los Angeles Missions mission
- Coordinate volunteer ministry efforts from church partners aligning activities with shelter values and program needs.
- Facilitate mentoring and community engagement opportunities for students in transitional or development programs.
Resident & Staff Engagement - Build relationships with students in shelter programs connecting them with local ministries mentors and discipleship resources.
- Offer spiritual support to staff fostering a culture of wellness reflection and personal growth.
- Organize retreats devotionals and team-building opportunities centered on spiritual formation.
Fundraising & Development Support - Collaborate with the development team to represent the ministry during special events and donor gatherings.
- Share stories of transformation and the spiritual impact of Los Angeles Mission work to inspire support.
- Occasionally assist in creating faith-based content or providing pastoral presence at fundraising events.
Leadership & Administration - Supervise ministry volunteers and interns as needed.
- Manage ministry-related budgets and track program outcomes.
- Collaborate with leadership to integrate spiritual care with overall mission and service model of Los Angeles Mission.
