Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage the Theatre and Visual Arts program at the assigned campus. Provide students with engaging standards-aligned learning activities and experiences in both Theatre and Art that develop their potential for intellectual emotional and social growth. Foster creativity self-expression collaboration and discipline through classroom instruction and extracurricular events.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in Theatre and/or Art
- Demonstrated competency in theatre and/or visual arts
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of overall operation of theatre and art programs
- Familiarity with curriculum and instructional strategies for both Theatre and Visual Arts
- Understanding of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules (Theatre)
- Ability to instruct and manage diverse groups of students
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Student teaching or approved internship in theatre and/or art
Experience directing productions coordinating art shows or extracurricular fine arts events preferred
