Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with an emphasis in mathematics sciences and/or accounting.
- One (1) year of related experience in teaching tutoring or other academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans coordinates and presents individualized and/or group academic assistance to students.
- Mentors and evaluates peers/professional tutors.
- Prepares coordinates and conducts orientations training and/or workshops for students faculty staff and volunteers.
- Assists students with using computerized or other multimedia equipment.
- Creates and updates supplemental resources to assure programs and services conform to best practices.
- Maintains a current knowledge based on the assigned disciplines to be able to provide academic support.
- Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars conferences and/or observes Daytona State College classes to improve academic and/or professional skills.
- Maintains and safeguards equipment materials and supplies.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- The ability to give academic information guidance and aid to all students in an approachable manner.
- Knowledge of computers peripherals and software programs such as word processing spreadsheets and various tutorial and learning management platforms.
- Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective oral and written communication proficiencies.
