Job Description
Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will design analyse and oversee the fabrication installation and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment. The role demands strong technical proficiency hands-on problem-solving ability and cross-functional collaboration to deliver projects safely on schedule within budget and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare calculations 3-D models 2-D drawings and BOMs using CAD/CAE tools (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD Creo ANSYS).
- Perform FEA CFD thermal and vibration analyses to validate designs and optimise performance.
- Liaise with procurement production quality and site teams to ensure seamless project execution and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure designs conform to ASME API ISO DIN and relevant local codes; prepare technical documentation for regulatory approval.
- Review technical bids conduct vendor drawing reviews and participate in FAT/SAT and site inspections.
- Support estimation track engineering hours identify scope changes and recommend value-engineering opportunities.
- Develop inspection & test plans (ITPs); collaborate with QA/QC teams to investigate NCRs and implement corrective actions.
- Provide on-site technical assistance troubleshoot start-up issues and hand over O&M manuals to operations.
- Conduct HAZID/HAZOP reviews perform FMEA and ensure designs meet HSE requirements and ergonomic standards.
- Track emerging technologies suggest process improvements and mentor junior engineers/interns.
Essential Qualifications
B.E./ (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years in design production or maintenance of mechanical systems/equipment (e.g. rotating machinery HVAC piping heavy fabrication automotive or process equipment).
Professional Engineer (PE) / Chartered Engineer (CE) / ASME Section VIII or API 610/617 familiarity.
Advantageous: Six Sigma Green Belt PMP or NEBOSH IGC for safety-focused projects.
Proficiency in at least one 3-D CAD package (SolidWorks Inventor Creo) and analysis tools (ANSYS Abaqus); MS Office & ERP/MRP exposure.
Fluent in English (written & verbal); local language a plus for shop-floor coordination.
