Job Description
This is a remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Format and design book interiors (eBooks and print-ready PDFs) according to platform specifications (Amazon KDP IngramSpark etc.)
2. Collaborate with the graphic designer to design engaging and professional book covers both for eBooks and print versions if you can design covers that s an additional advantage
3. Convert manuscripts into compatible eBook formats (ePub MOBI KPF AMZ PDF)
4. Collaborate with authors editors and content creators to ensure accuracy and visual consistency
5. Upload and publish final versions on platforms like Amazon KDP Draft2Digital IngramSpark and others
6. Troubleshoot and resolve formatting or uploading issues
7. Maintain version control and meet publishing deadlines
8. Ensure final output meets global publishing standards and is device-friendly
Requirements
- Proven experience in book formatting and digital publishing
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe InDesign Canva MS Word Vellum Calibre and Kindle Create
- Experience with Amazon KDP and other self-publishing platforms
- Strong understanding of layout typography spacing and visual hierarchy
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Basic understanding of ISBN management and metadata optimization is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
* Portfolio of past book formatting and publishing work
* Familiarity with copyright and publishing best practices
* Experience in formatting academic fiction or non-fiction books and picture books
