Mainframe DBA - DB2, IMS DBA, Az/OS - Long Term Contract - Onsite

Arthur Grand Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mainframe Database Administrator DB2 IMS Background Long Term Contract Wilmington DE for one of our clients.

Position: Mainframe Database Administrator with IMS Background

Location: Wilmington DE (Weekly 5 days office is must)

Duration: Contract

Job Description:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5 years of hands-on experience as a DBA working with IBM DB2 and IMS on z/OS.
• Strong experience with tools such as DB2 Utilities (REORG LOAD RUNSTATS COPY) IMS utilities and Tivoli OMEGAMON.
• Proficiency in JCL TSO/ISPF and other z/OS mainframe tools.
• Solid understanding of relational database theory storage structures and performance tuning.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning data replication and high availability strategies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Administer and maintain DB2 for z/OS and IMS (DB/DC) databases to ensure high availability and performance.
• Install configure upgrade and patch DB2 and IMS environments.
• Perform database design physical data modelling and schema management for new and existing applications.
• Monitor and tune database performance; proactively resolve issues related to memory locking and storage.
• Perform backups restores and recovery using IBM utilities and job control language (JCL).
• Ensure data integrity enforce standards and apply security controls in accordance with compliance and governance requirements.
• Support development teams with SQL optimization application deployment and problem resolution.
• Develop and maintain documentation of database configurations procedures and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support for production database environments as needed.
• Collaborate with system programmers storage administrators and application developers on cross-functional projects
