Job Description

As the Global Sports Marketing Manager Running W/M you are responsible for overseeing the Sport & Community marketing strategy for Running: athletes influencers Golden Trail World Series sport events and athletes/races content.

Drive the Sport & Community Marketing Strategy from definition to implementation

  • Define and update short/mid/long term strategy according to sport vision local feedback market evolution and competitors actions
  • Define yearly program & corresponding activation guidelines
  • Define budget guidance (HQ/local)

Lead the Athletes Program

  • Manage international athletes team (S2A race calendar bonuses contract management performance support)
  • Develop and manage a new Performance program to professionalize our team make the results more predictable: from medical follow-up to nutrition recovery mental health and team belonging (camp image communication)
  • Manage a scouting program leveraging digital and AI as well as on-field scouting

Lead the Influencers Program

  • Build the program for global influencers: define profiles recruit them manage them and create activations around them
  • Define guidelines for local influence recruitment & activation

Lead the Golden Trail World Series

  • Craft the future of the GTWS: event partner other sponsors
  • Ensure smooth organization of the series (logistics communication with all parties visibility)
  • Review the serie visual identity & Salomon integration

Lead Global Sports Events

  • Lead strategy guidelines and execution of dedicated events (ex. UTMB MAXIRACE ULTRA SPIRIT etc..)

People Management

  • Lead a team of 7/8 direct reports including team managers and the sports events specialist with overall responsibility for the broader team
  • Foster the conditions for individual and collective success through clear direction active support and empowerment
  • Drive a culture of team excellence by animating collaboration accountability and continuous improvement
  • Develop and embed a winning spirit and a culture of high performance aligned with company values and ambitions
  • Lead external partners and collaborate with local marketing teams

Qualifications :

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 10 years of professional experience in Sports Marketing & Influence in the running industry
  • Proven experience successfully managing and developing a team
  • Ability to manage external partners/communication agencies
  • Ability to lead in complex multicultural and matrix environments
  • Strong project management skills and ability to think strategically
  • Demonstrated integrity trustworthiness and commitment to professional excellence

  • Leadership: You have the ability to build focus and align groups to deliver goals. You collaborate efficiently & communicate the strategy to ensure common understanding.
  • Market Knowledge: You understand the market context in which the business operates knowledge of competitors customers partners. You demonstrate profound knowledge of the Running industry and company value drivers that could be leveraged to reshape the market industry or the companys competitive position.
  • Communication: You utilise inter-personal skills to support a positive work environment; interpreting and reacting positively to emotional cues building effective relationships. You possess good emotional intelligence to be able to adapt style accordingly to different circumstances and audiences. 
  • Collaboration: You are able to work with peers and partners to drive results & improve performance. Forging new partnerships and collaboration networks to achieve goals. You are able to recognize sources of conflict and acts to resolve them to get to win-win outcomes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: 5 years degree course with a specialty in Marketing.
  • Language: Proficiency in English another language is a plus.
  • IT: Microsoft Office Suite
