Job Description

An exciting opportunity in our Finance team as Accounts Payable Officer on Permanent Fulltime position. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn and grow in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As Accounts Payable Officer you will be responsible ensuring that outstanding accounts held by suppliers and creditors to HCAs business are maintained and up to date. This role is also required to ensure that accounts payable records are thoroughly maintained and that processes are reviewed to identify opportunity to develop and improve.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide total management of the process of payment to suppliers and other creditors
  • Maintain accurate and auditable Accounts Payable records / Ledgers
  • Maintain and enforce HCA Accounts Payable policies
  • Review supplier statements to ensure invoices are being processed in accordance with trading terms and ensure appropriate filing and archiving of documents to enable retrieval for auditors and other enquiries
  • Process stops payments stale and un-presented cheques
  • Provide ad hoc support to the senior accountant and finance manager
  • Assist in month end and year end closing
  • Attend to queries from suppliers and employees
  • Providing training for new employees in AP policies and procedures and providing assistance to help get them up to speed
  • Maintain a high standard of conduct and work performance to promote Healthcare Australias reputation with key internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications :

  • Completed Accounting/Business degree with a major in accounting or 1 years of experience working in an Accounts Payable / Receivable role
  • Strong communication skills with great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of GST
  • Understanding of Accounts Payable systems
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs pivot tables etc)
  • Familiar with accounting standards
  • Proficient user of finance software (TechOne / D365 experience is advantageous)
