The NDT / Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all welding and non-destructive testing activities on the oil and gas project comply with applicable codes standards and project specifications. The role involves inspection documentation and coordination with contractors and quality teams to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and ensure compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
- Perform or supervise NDT methods such as UT RT MT PT and VT.
- Review and verify welding procedures welder qualifications and NDT reports.
- Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients for inspection and testing activities.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections test results and non-conformance reports.
- Participate in QA/QC audits and support root cause analysis for quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with international codes such as ASME AWS API and ISO standards.
- Support the development and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel regarding welding and NDT issues.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certified in NDT Level II or III (UT RT MT PT VT).
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or AWS-CWI certification preferred.
- Minimum 57 years of experience in oil & gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes materials and international standards.
- Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and reporting tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and high-pressure environment.
