Description

SEWS El Paso Texas Office. Although located at SEWS El Paso Office this is a Hybrid position which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Job Title:
Quality Engineer II
Basic Purpose:
Quality Engineer to coordinate the procurement of the customers PPAP packages assigned by management and help assessment and solution of quality issues. Review with customers and with manufacturing facilities PPAP strategies to meet customers due dates and ensure all APQP deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Review with manufacturing facilities all PPAP deliverables in order to meet PPAP dates.
  2. Review with all different teams APQP deliverables for each launching phase.
  3. To be in contact with customer quality representatives (SOE STA SQA) to review product PPAP status in all program phases.
  4. Review and follow up the Program Trackers for the new launches.
  5. May participate in the creation and/or interpretation of Quality-related documentation for project design history files (APQP Plan customer requirements FMEA Control Plan PPAP FPSO plans etc.)
  6. Participate in teams that identify risks/hazards associated with product designs processes applications and production phases.
  7. Closely monitors customer PPAP portals perceptions and makes judgements regarding necessary actions during the new products launching phases. Provides feedback to the responsible organization and assures required improvement activities.
  8. Flexibility to support the quality department functions as required by management.
  9. Flexibility to travel within US and Mexico to support customer assembly plants and SEWS locations.
Qualifications:
  1. BS in Industrial Engineering or similar field
  2. 3 to 5 years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  3. Proficiency in Excel PowerPoint and Outlook required.
  4. Experience with 8D problem solving.
  5. Experience in the automotive industry and wire harness manufacturing.
